IGN Exclusive: Micheal Stahl-David Interview

IGN.com has an exclusive interview with Micheal Stahl-David (Rob).

This isn't to say that the character of Rob doesn't get to perform any heroic actions in the film. But still… don't look for Stahl-David to pull any Bruce Willis maneuvers either in Cloverfield.

"He does do some heroic stuff, but I was really interested in him being as much of a pussy as I would be in that situation! I didn't want him to cross that line into, 'Oh, all of a sudden he's so brave,'" he says. "Yeah, the action that takes place and what he winds up doing is in and of itself very heroic, so I wanted to play against that as much as possible. … I'm not a very Bruce Willis type dude, so that probably helps. I just wanted it to be kind of frantic and coming from a place of fear or just absolute necessity."

Tagruato Update

The following is from Tagruato.jp. It inclueds limited details about what happend, but it 'sounds serious'. Take a look.

Update:
There has been an altercation at the Chaui Station. Although details are limited at present time, be assured that Tagruato is taking every measure necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all staff and crew. Specialty teams have been deployed, and are working aggressively to restore harmony at the site.The cause of the problem is currently being investigated, although it is suspected that an eco-terror cell is responsible for the disturbance.We have top investigators on our side. "Director Matt Reeves promises “intimate contact” with the monster by the end of the 90-minute film."

Confirmed: You do see the monster
"People think you use the 'Blair Witch' aesthetic to avoid seeing things," says Reeves. "I didn't want to have all that anticipation and not reveal him. The fun thing is you do see everything over the course of the movie in several different ways, but it's filmed heavily from one point-of-view. You move quickly. By the end you have intimate contact."

Hand held: the entire movie is not shot in hand held cameras, but it will seem like it is.
"For the widescreen scenes with visual effects, which require higher resolution, a cameraman dressed like Hud sports the much-heavier hi- res Sony F23 or Thomson Viper."The cameraman was creating the illusion that huge cameras are very light," says Reeves. "It was grueling. People fell."

Fear:
"This movie builds true fear, tension and suspense rather than disgust," Schneider says. "Oren's making pure classical horror."

Whats New?

Two different TV commercials have been seen, but only one on TV. Heres what I meen. The first TV commercial was seen two nights ago on VH1 during the "I love New York 2" finale, but the other has only been seen on the web, but they say its a TV commercial: http://www.movieweb.com/news/39/25239.php ;

The first one's dialogg is as follows: *credit to Denis, from Cloverfield Clues*
Announcer: Some Thing Has Found Us
Lily: What is that?

Hawk: You don't know what we saw! The point is, it's still here.

Lily: Do you know what that thing is?
Soldier: Whatever it is, it's winning

A quick TidoWave update (for those of you who dont know, its a website against Tagurato).
Well the "event" has gone wrong. Someone posted the following:

What was in the present:

The tape recorder said the following: Jamie, listen to me, alright this is not a joke. If you're hearing this before we've spoken, then it means that I've been captured by the company called Tagruato. Ok, tagruato. Now listen. You, this is important. Don't call the authorities. It'll screw everything up. Just sit tight and wait to hear from Randy. He knows to call you. We're on their station ok, and it's like they've found something, or they're making something, but the point is, I can't, I'm not going to be calling you again. You're not gonna hear from me again. I just want you to wait for Randy, he will explain
